Inspired by pop art, a whole new way of patterning emerged in the 1970s. The patterns were simple with bright colours on a white background. The idea behind the pattern was that it would suit the pace of the new era and all its cool impressions. 10-gruppen's first wallpaper collection for Duro was launched in 1973 and featured the Star wallpaper, the cheeky little star that is as easy to embrace now as it was then. The designer behind Star is Tom Hedqvist, one of the founders of the famous design collective. Born in 1948, Tom Hedqvist has played a significant role in Swedish design in a variety of areas.
