About Duro

  • What does it mean to be a Royal Warrant Holder?

For Duro, being a Royal Warrant Holder is a recognition of our long-standing commitment to high-quality wallpaper and craftsmanship. It means that, following official approval, we have supplied our products to the Royal Court over several years.

  • How do you work with quality?

We are committed to consistently delivering wallpapers of the highest quality. Our collections are carefully curated and crafted with attention to both materials and printing, ensuring excellent quality, accurate color reproduction, and a beautiful result in your home.

We continuously work to develop and refine our products, so you can feel confident that every wallpaper meets an exclusive standard.

Our wallpapers & wallpapering

  • Are your wallpapers made in Sweden?

Yes. Since 1930, we have manufactured our wallpapers in our original factory in Hagaström, Gävle, a tradition we continue to uphold with great pride. Only our digitally printed wallpapers and the Atelier collection are produced by a trusted partner, also based in Sweden.

  • How are your wallpapers made?

All our wallpapers are printed using traditional paste printing techniques, with the exception of our murals and the Atelier range. We produce our own paints, which are mixed at our factory. All colors are fully water-based and free from PVC and solvents.

  • What does it mean that your wallpapers have high lightfastness?

Wallpapers with high lightfastness (also referred to as light resistance) are designed to resist visible changes when exposed to light. This means that the colors retain their depth and character even with prolonged exposure to daylight, ensuring a durable and long-lasting result.

  • What types of wallpaper do you offer?

We offer a wide range of QuickUp (non-woven) wallpapers, as well as a more carefully curated selection of Classic Paper wallpapers. Our ассортимент includes a variety of styles, patterns, and colors to suit different tastes and interior styles.

  • What does pattern matching mean?

Pattern matching refers to how the wallpaper strips are aligned so that the pattern repeats correctly. The type of pattern match for your wallpaper is indicated on the roll label and on the product page on our website.

Please note that matching can sometimes, though not always, be applied in different ways. For the best result and to make the most of each roll, the wallpaper should always be matched according to our recommendations.

  • What does pattern repeat mean?

Pattern repeat refers to the size of the pattern before it repeats. For example, a wallpaper with a pattern repeat of 53 cm means that the design is repeated every 53 cm.

  • What type of wallpaper adhesive (wallpaper paste) do I need?

It depends on whether you choose a QuickUp or a paper wallpaper.

For our QuickUp wallpapers, we recommend using a non-woven adhesive.

For paper wallpapers, you’ll need an adhesive specifically intended for paper. The recommended adhesive type is always stated on the roll packaging. If you’re unsure, the staff at your local store (a Duro retailer) will be happy to help you choose the right one.

  • Why doesn’t my wallpaper look the same as it does on the website?

Color reproduction can vary from screen to screen, so we cannot guarantee that the actual color will match exactly what you see on your digital device. If you’re unsure, we offer the option to order samples of all our wallpapers. We also provide free shipping on wallpaper samples.

  • Can I get the NCS code for the different colors in my wallpaper?

We understand that many customers would like NCS codes for our wallpapers in order to match them with other surfaces, such as woodwork and painted interiors. That’s why we have recently begun a collaboration with NCS to provide the closest matching NCS code for each wallpaper.

This currently applies to wallpapers in the Småmönstrat and Akvarell ranges, as well as all wallpapers in collections released after these. Our goal is to continue including NCS specifications in all upcoming collections.

  • What does the batch number mean?

Each roll of wallpaper is marked with a batch number on the label, indicating its color batch and print information. It is important that all rolls used for a project have the same batch number. This ensures consistency in both color tone and pattern matching, as variations can occur between different production runs.

  • What is the fire rating of your wallpapers?

All Duro wallpapers are fire-tested and classified according to the current European standard, EN 13501-1:2002. The results show that all our wallpapers achieve the highest possible classification for combustible materials such as wallpaper.

This means that Duro’s non-woven wallpapers can be used in escape routes, public spaces, and similar environments when applied to substrates with a minimum classification of A2-s1, d0 (e.g. plasterboard).

EasyCover

  • Which covering wallpaper for renovation should I choose?

The choice depends on the condition of your surface, as well as your level of experience. Our EasyCover products can also be recommended based on the characteristics of your room.

EasyCover creates a smooth base on more demanding surfaces with greater unevenness. It is particularly well suited for larger areas with fewer windows or openings, where it can be used more efficiently. It’s a good option if you’re aiming for a more robust result and have some experience with similar products. It provides a surface with a subtle fiber texture.

EasyCover Select is suitable for surfaces with minor imperfections and for those who want to install lining wallpaper themselves without prior experience. It closely resembles traditional wallpapering. If you have a smaller room with limited wall space and several windows or openings, EasyCover Select is the more convenient choice. It creates a completely smooth and elegant finish.

Read more about their differences and features here.

  • How many rolls of my EasyCover product do I need?

One roll of EasyCover covers up to 10 m², providing approximately four full drops per roll at a standard ceiling height of 2.5 m.

One roll of EasyCover Select covers 6 m², also providing approximately four full drops per roll at a standard ceiling height of 2.5 m.
