Högstatorpet

The original for Högstatorpet was found in a pantry at Vikbolandet, Östergötland. The wallpaper is dated to around 1870. During this period, the wallpaper industry was industrialised, which meant that more people could buy wallpaper – even those living in simpler homes and cottages. The patterns were often dense and the colours dark, sometimes with hints of gold.
