1940s wallpaper had a softer appearance than previously. Perhaps it was the unrest of the times that left its mark on the people’s homes and their wallpapers, which in contrast became calm and romantic. The period furnishings bore traces of the earlier functionalism but combined with a more traditional style that blended to create a homely feel. Colours were often pastel on a beige background. The Kristina wallpaper was found in Duro's pattern archive from 1941 and once again has the opportunity to meander gracefully across the walls of the home.
